It is hard to believe this day has finally come. I have to say that I have mixed feelings. It’s wonderful to look forward to a future of fun and relaxation and to getting around to many of the things that I always said I would do “someday.” But I also feel sadness at leaving behind what has been such an important part of my life.
In Jan 2008, I was looking for a new job and my dear friend Angie said, “Well I think my partner Rob Monaghan is looking for part-time help on his service team”. And as they say, the rest is history… I worked for Rob and his team for 5 years and then as Angie’s assistant and office manager. Sharon Carman, gave notice so I threw my name into the hat and transitioned over to the construction side where I have been the last 10 years – doing a little bit of everything – office manager, project admin, and executive assistant.
WAM is an amazing company to work for. This is because we work as a team and we truly honor the company values which respect every individual at Western Allied regardless of your position or role. WAM’s success would not be possible without the support, hard work, and dedication of everyone working together. Dedicated to teamwork is what we do best!
WAM has supported me through some of the happiest times of my life and also through some of the most difficult times of my life. In 2014, my son Kevin was very sick for most of the year and WAM stood by me and let me work at the hospital long before working remotely was a thing. Working at Western Allied means more than just a job or a career to me, it means family. Upper management truly believes in the WAM family and I have experienced that personally on so many levels. Grounded in care is something we at WAM live by.
The last 15 years have been a pleasure to work with all you amazing people. Deep down in my heart, I have great memories of our fun times together – be it picnics, ping pong tournaments, birthday celebrations, or holiday lunches – I treasure the friendships made and the incredible successes we have enjoyed; all these have been a wonderful part of my life. WAM is the best company to work for and I know that the growth and innovation will continue due to leadership’s belief in our core values. I hope all of you feel as fortunate to work here as I have.
Now, it is time for me to look forward to my adventures and the freedom to pursue my hobbies and interests, including crafting, hiking, gardening and hanging out with my family and friends.
Thank you for the incredible love, support, and friendship. You all will be missed. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for being such a special part of my WAM family.
